Brian Smoliak is an entrepreneur by necessity, a climate scientist by training, and a servant leader at heart. His purpose is to create spaces where each person can be their true self, so that together, we can serve something greater than ourselves. After being introduced to Engeye by a former Union College Minerva Fellow, Brian served on the Engeye board of directors from 2013 to 2018 in roles including treasurer and board chair. He is currently a member of the finance committee and the chair of the governance committee. Brian has traveled to Uganda twice, each time splitting his time between the Evergreen Primary School in Kotolo and Engeye in Ddegeya.
